The secret to a great trucking company is finding the right people.
You need the right combination of owner, operations manager, load planners, driver managers, and, most importantly, the best truck drivers to equal a great trucking company!
Changing your seat can help you see the company more clearly than before.
While driving a truck for a few years, I learned the importance of a well-balanced company. I’ve learned that there needs to be a balance of personal and professional attitudes. Starting at the top, it begins with the owner all the way down to the drivers. Many companies claim to have a family atmosphere, but from my experience, very few truly have one. From my experiences, many companies tend to separate drivers from office personnel. That is not the case here at Barber Trucking. You can walk right in to chat with anyone in the office anytime!
No two situations or days are perfect. However, the effort put in by the people in the office is more than many people know or understand. While driving for years, I didn’t always see the vision of what the companies were trying to do. Sometimes it seemed like nothing was working out the right way. My pay wasn’t making me rich, but they paid my bills and gave my family a comfortable life. As a driver, I never realized how much effort went into that.
Drivers are nothing without a supportive and hard-working office staff to keep the wheels turning.
Since leaving the big rig for the office, it has opened my eyes to many things. I have seen first-hand how hard the office personnel work to give my family the life they have. From the owner that cares and wants everyone to succeed to the office manager pulling himself eight different ways to ensure that drivers get treated fairly. Then, there is the driver manager who works to ensure that the drivers are safe and well cared for by the customers and that drivers maintain a timely performance. The garage takes special care in maintaining the trucks for safety, and the 24/7 maintenance phone line always gets you moving.
If you’re looking to join a true family trucking company, then the BARBER Family is waiting to hear from you!
