Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator

Barber Trucking is a family owned and operated company headquartered in Brookville, Pennsylvania. We currently have an exciting career opportunity available as a Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator, based out of our Brookville, PA terminal. This position will require a very detail-oriented individual.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Answer incoming phone calls and help accordingly.
  • Provide rotating coverage of after-hours phone support.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with our teammates (drivers, customers & co-workers).
  • Accept shipment orders from customers via phone, email, EDI, fax, or load boards.
  • Enter load, ensure directions, appointment, hours, credit and contracts are accurate and up to date.
  • Plan drivers in accordance with FMCSA HOS Regulations with working knowledge of 49 CFR Part 395 Required.
  • Advise customers of late pickup, delivery and recovery plans by 0900 daily.
  • Confirm pick up, delivery, and rates in customer TMS, EDI, Etc.
  • Check all rate confirmations daily to verify accuracy in PowerPRO and notify Freight Billing when complete.
  • Address customer issues (detention, reschedules, etc.)
  • Comply with driver home time and time off requests.
  • Plan truck maintenance, routing, and scheduling and coordinate with the garage.
  • Ensure customer commitments are met
  • Submit trips to OS&D as required, notify claims ASAP and complete required documentation.
  • Develop and maintain a smooth flow of equipment to comply with FMCSA Regulations, customer commitments, shipment orders and requests.
  • Manage stressful situations with customers in a professional manner.
  • Maintain PowerPRO solicitation log for customers.
  • Maintain Customer Master File.
  • Elevate critical incidents to supervisor.
  • Reviews ongoing performance results to KPI’s, takes corrective measures with authorization, escalate as needed.
  • Provide input to management on issues including but not limited to: safety, driver retention, KPI’s and efficiency.
  • Provide spot rates as needed, utilizing data and tools available.
  • Offer load tenders to Independent Contractors.
  • Broker Excess and Customer Loads to Carriers.
  • Assist drivers with EFS card setup, management and issuing of money codes.
  • Assist drivers with ELD issues in accordance with the FMCSA Regulations.
  • Complete Accident/Incident/WC Injury forms correctly as they are needed.
  • Ensure proper directions, hours of operation, and parking availability are maintained for consignees and shippers in SSI. Correct directions per driver requests.
  • Communicate dispatch information to drivers via Samsara, phone, etc. Interpret and address concerns and communicated by drivers.
  • Post POD images, assist billing specialist to obtain if missing POD images are needed for invoicing. Coach drivers to turn in POD’s in a timely manner
  • Ensure PTA is maintained correctly for tractors (empty and seated).
  • Monitor driver detention time. Ensure drivers and load planners are following procedures for minimizing detention.
  • Ensure drivers have consistent capability of earnings weekly by meeting or exceeding KPI’s.
  • Monitor weekly gross of driver to ensure accuracy and driver minimum needs are being met consistently.
  • Create and sustain an outstanding, professional and safe work environment for drivers.
  • Responsible for keeping drivers compliant and safe. Uphold all company policies and DOT regulations.
  • Responsible for on-time performance of fleet of trucks.
  • Give driver regular feedback and praise on performance.
  • Treat drivers as one of our most valuable assets. Assist drivers with issues and problems as those relate to other job duties, and help achieve and/or exceed Driver Retention Goals.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by Operations Manager.

Work Environment:
  • For the most part, ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
  • For the most part, the working atmosphere is fast-paced and constantly changing.
Pay:
  • $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
